Hidden Guide:Amnesiac

Line1

Notes:

This is a minotaur.

You can read the story of "Theseus and the Minotaur" at this page

Single: Pyramid Song
Notes: The dates stamped on the backs of the singles, such as 06 NOV 2035 and 06 FEB 2012, are actually the birthdays of members & families of the band, as well as people who work with them. The years don't seem to have a significance.

Format: Limited Edition Amnesiac
Notes: It says "F HEIT451" next to "ACC No.". This is possibly referring to a book by Ray Bradbury, "Fahrenheit 451 - the temperature at which books burn", written in the 70s. The novel is set in a post-literature future where all books are burned. [thank you euan & jean-francois]

Format: Limited Edition Amnesiac
Notes: The inside front cover has the words "Mithras Tauroctonos". This is latin for "Mithras the bull-slayer", the founding diety of the ancient Roman Mithraic cult. Mithras represented good and the bull represented evil; thus, depictions of Mithras killing the bull were depictions of good winning over evil. Here's a good starting reference: http://hagen.let.rug.nl/~s1052691/dmithras.htm. [thanks kenan]

Format: Limited Edition Amnesiac
Notes: The inside cover mentions "Catachresis College" and has "requested/catachresis" written on the fake library card. Catachresis means, generally, the mistaken use of a word when another is meant. It can also describe an instance in which a word or phrase is used in an unusual context when there is no equivalent for said context. [thanks kenan]
